FROM: David Riklan, Founder SelfGrowth.com

Dear Entrepreneur and Business Owner,

My name is David Riklan and I am the founder of SelfGrowth.com. I run the # 1 Self Improvement website on the Internet.

We've all seen the Search Engine Optimization promises...

"We position your website at the top of the major search engines and keep it there for only $9.95, and we position your site in just a few days!"

"$29.95 For Top 3 & Top 10 Rankings + 1 Year Search Listing Guarantee."

Are these claims for real?

No, No, and No! They are not true!

'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans is taking Jace out for Halloween before rave

Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans has been planning on attending a rave party for months tonight, which is Halloween night. But according to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report released on Oct. 30, Jenelle hasn't forgotten everything about her son Jace and this special holiday. In fact, she is claiming that she is making time to take him trick-or-treating tonight, meaning she is working on becoming the mother that he needs. When she was dating Kieffer Delp, she agreed to attend a big rave party in Myrtle Beach, which is a short drive from her house. But as soon as she announced the news on Twitter, people began questioning whether she was really putting her son first since she was planning other things on Halloween.

According to the report, Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans has made plans to take her son out tonight before heading to the party. Surely, this isn't exactly what Jenelle's mother had in mind when her daughter claimed to be doing everything in her power to get custody back of her son, but Jenelle isn't exactly doing what a mother of one should be doing. Yeah I AM very excited to take Jace trick or treating tomorrow, Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans replied to a fan who asked her if she was taking Jace out on Halloween.

It sounds like Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is planning on taking her son out in the early evening hours and then tugging him into bed at night. Then, she is planning on driving down to Myrtle Beach to attend the rave party with her boyfriend, Courtland, and her fellow 16 & Pregnant star Nikkole Paulun, who initially invited her to go.

Do you think Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is being a responsible mother by taking her son out first and then partying? Or should she drop the partying all together and stay home with her son, even though he is sleeping after 10?

Still Think EDM Isn't Music? This Will Change Your Mind

The Complexity and Beauty Behind the Music

The negative stigma surrounding electronic dance music (EDM) has poisoned the minds of worried parents and over-ambitious authority figures, to the point where non-listeners are unable to separate the music from alleged drug use. Mainstream medias skewed coverage of EDM events, coupled with the masses inability to appreciate that which they cannot understand, has led to this horribly inaccurate claim that electronic music contains no artistic value or musical merit. However, electronic music is actually a deeply intricate and complex genre of music that takes masterful production with attention to detail.

If you are one of those people who simply does not get electronic music, please read on with an open mind, because you will surely discover something valuable in this genre of music.

First, lets start with the term EDM. This acronym for electronic dance music has become the overarching term for any kind of dance music, despite the fact that countless producers/DJs incorporate real instruments into their production and live performances. However, it gets grouped into this category under the umbrella term EDM which has come to develop quite a negative connotation in most peoples minds. When people think EDM, it is common for them to associate the music with the rave culture and Jersey Shore type scenarios, since they appear so often in mainstream media in that context. In many ill-advised peoples minds, EDM and drugs are synonymous, wrongfully accusing ravers/EDM fans as the only music culture to consume drugs at concerts (which we all know is false, because they said the same thing about rock and roll a few decades ago).

Internationally famous music producer and DJ, Kaskade, wrote an insightful article about these accusations and compares electronic music to rock and roll in attempts to enlighten the masses.

The parallels between where we are now and what was happening back in the late 60s cant be ignored. At a time when the fusion of technology and artistry are absorbed into our everyday lives, its stupefying that comments still exist from people like The Arcade Fire, who should actually know better (Shout out to all the bands still playing actual instruments at this festival,)

Now that the term EDM is cleared up, lets move on to more specific terms you have probably heard, like dubstep or house. Under the umbrella of electronic music, there are many different subgenres that are distinguished by two main factors:

1. Tempo (beats per minute/BPM)

2. Percussion pattern/structure

It takes trained ears to recognize the different subgenres (dubstep, trance, house, drum and bass, break-beats, etc), which is something most of the general population cannot accomplish because they probably dont even know the technical differences. Rather than explaining what each of the subgenres sounds like, my all-time favorite musician, Bassnectar, created a video in which he briefly explains how to decipher between subgenres.

As you can see, there is more to EDM than the mainstream media gives it credit for, especially when considering the fact that producing this music in software programs allows for infinite possibilities for sounds and melodies. For example, the term dubstep refers to a song that is at a speed of 140 bpm in 4/4 time signature where the bass drum hits on beat 1 and the snare drum hits on beat 3. However, with the infinite possibilities of sounds, dubstep can be beautifully melodic or it can be filled with heavy bass rhythms, or anywhere in between (same goes for every subgenre).

Dubstep/EDM isnt even music! Its just noises! Anyone can do that!

To untrained ears that have not been exposed to this innovative type of music, yes, it may appear to be just noises. However, electronic music producers spend countless hours perfecting each noise that you hear in their songs, despite the misconception that it is easy to produce music. They completely construct each synthesized sample using filters, pitch-bends, and hundreds (legitimately hundreds) of other tools at their disposal, while using music theory to balance and harmonize each layer of sound into the correct key. This concept is difficult for many new listeners to understand at first, which is why I usually introduce them to electronic music that has obvious REAL instruments audible on the songs.

A perfect example of this instrumental electronic music is producer/composer Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights. He spent two full years producing his most recent album, titled A Color Map of the Sun, where he assembled the best musicians from all over the country to form an ensemble to perform and record the songs he wrote. After each song had been recorded by these live orchestras, he altered them on his computer to make them dance music with bass and intricate effects. Luckily for us, Derek filmed the entire process and produced a documentary.

Hopefully after reading this article you understand electronic music a little more, and will think twice before criticizing it. Thanks for reading.

Drugs, firearms seized from illegal rave event

DRUGS and unregistered firearms have been seized after a planned rave party was shut-down in Bundagenthis morning.

Just before 11am, police conducted a drug operation and searched a home on Overhead Bridge Rdafter receiving information by the public.

The rave party was due to take place at 1pm in an area of the Bongil Bongil National Park surrounding the home.

During a search of the 65-year-old man's home, police allegedly found ecstasy, cannabis, crystal methylamphetamine, cannabis plants and four unregistered firearms.

Three party-goers - aged 19, 28 and 30 - were found to be in the allegedpossession of ecstasy, crystal methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Cannabis was also seized from two cars as part of a drug-dog operation on surrounding roads.

Coffs-Clarence Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson said police have a zero tolerance approach towards illegal rave parties.

"Parties of this nature have raised issues with us in the past - in particular drug use, motor vehicle accidents, damage to national parks including parks being utilised as a toilet," Insp Jameson said.

Insp Jameson said policing of these type of events would continue.

"This is not about stopping young people from enjoying the style of music they have at these rave events, this is all about the hidden drug culture associated with them and keeping people safe," he said.

"These events have shown to be drug-fuelled and while those involved in this culture would deny this, the reality is there are serious risks involved to those who attend these events."

The rave had been organised by a Bellingen-based event management service and a stage area and sound equipment had already been set-up when police arrived.

Get To Know Erin Willett of ‘The Biggest Loser’ 2016

Get To Know Erin Willett of The Biggest Loser 2016

"I was 22 years old and just seeing the world for the first time, really. And people are mean sometimes. Especially when they're hiding behind a computer. For every 10 amazing tweets and comments, there would be that one that I would just focus on."

Watching our #TommyShow Fav @erin_willett on @biggestlosernbc -- LOVE YOU. Get It Girl! pic.twitter.com/GYcf9TEd3l

-- Tommy McFLY (@TommyMcFLY) January 5, 2016

She shared that there was a lot of it that she didn't let bother her. Erin didn't mind if people called her stupid because she knows that she is smart. The comments about Willet's weight were what got to her though. She also battled with bulimia and kept it quiet until recently when she shared with her mom and her boyfriend. It does sound like deciding to be on The Biggest Loser is a great step for her and Erin shared her thoughts on it.

"I've fallen apart. Now, I'm here to rebuild myself in a more genuine way, a deeper way, a stronger way that will outlast the comments that don't matter. I want to build a stronger relationship with myself. I'm ready to make a change. I am young, and I don't want the things that I'm struggling with now to carry on into my adult life. I want to have a fulfilling, happy, great life. I just need to get out of my own way. And I'm ready to do that."

Erin Willett's website shared a bit more information about her, including updates on her music. Erin is from Gaithersburg, Maryland but now lives in Brooklyn, New York. Erin started her musical career while studying Marketing and Music at Hofstra University. Erin does have an album on iTunes now and she even has new music coming out this year. Her song Out of the Darkness will be coming out on January 25. Erin Willett did live in LA for a short time working on her music career, but is now back in New York.

Do you think that Erin Willett could end up winning The Biggest Loser this season? With Richard Hatch on her team, these two are going to be very competitive and it will be interesting to watch it all go down. Sound off in the comments below and don't miss new episodes on Monday nights on NBC.

SFX Creates Team to Offer Marketers Consumer Insights into Electronic Music Audience | Reuters

SFX Creates Team to Offer Marketers Consumer Insights into Electronic Music Audience

Initial study reveals that millennial fans consider dance music a way of life and a defining aspect of their generation.

SFX Entertainment (NASDAQ:SFXE) announced today the creation of its new Audience Insights Group, to study electronic dance music (EDM) fans and understand their interests, attitudes and behavior, while providing marketers with ideas about how to connect with this audience.

With that, the Audience Insights Group today released its first report, The Electronic Music, Technology and Youth Culture Study, which found that millennials dont see electronic dance music (EDM) simply as a music genre. To them, its bigger than the music its a culture and a way of life.

The study is the first of many SFX primary research initiatives that will look to better understand electronic music culture (EMC) and millennials relationship with it. The survey asked Beatport users to share their thoughts and feelings about EDM, technology, festivals and brands.

SFX Entertainment, Inc. is the largest global producer of live events and digital entertainment content focused exclusively on EMC. Beatport, an SFX company, has been the trusted home of the global dance music community for a decade and recently launched a free streaming music service at Beatport.com.

The SFX Audience Insights Groups work has provided SFX with a wealth of new insights into what makes EDM the music of the millennial generation. The creation of this group is a strategic tool that will help our brand partners reach our audience, said Greg Consiglio, President and COO of SFX Entertainment.

The insights lead, we believe, to some provocative questions that marketers might want to consider as they strategize about how to connect with this elusive audience, said Whitney Miller, Ph.D., Director of Consumer Insights for SFX. What we found was that EDM represents youth ideals of connection to others, the use of innovation and overall emotion.

Key findings of the survey include:

When Beatport users were asked how they felt about EDM, nearly 50% said its a way of life! and 95% agreed that it has created a culture thats bigger than music itself. Similarly, 93% agreed that its a dening aspect of my generation. EMC also thrives on connectivity. Those surveyed enhanced their experiences with their smartphones and social media, as 79% said they took photos or videos at events. Another 51% said they sought information about artists or songs on their smartphones while at events, and 50% said they use social media to post about festivals while they are there, with Facebook and Instagram being the most popular. Speaking about the music, 66% said they listened mostly to House, with 55% listening to Deep House and 53% listening to Electro. They were the most popular of the 19 subgenres mentioned in the survey. Brands stand to gain affinity by aligning with EMC, according to the survey, with 93% of Beatport users saying they appreciate when brands help bring them great events, and 87% saying they have a more positive perception of a brand knowing that its associated with electronic music. What this means is that brands need to understand this audience, not try to control it, said Matt Britton, founder and CEO of MRY and author of YouthNation: Building Remarkable Brands in a Youth-Driven Culture. The SFX Audience Insights Group is well positioned to help brands and agencies alike navigate this largely misunderstood and explosive culture, so they can enhance the fan experience with their participation, rather than distract from it.

Our partnership with SFX adds value in several ways," said Michael Robichaud, Group Head, Global Sponsorships, at MasterCard. Having meaningful insights into this audience will allow us to design product solutions and Priceless marketing programs that will bring EDM fans even closer to their music passion.

SFX partnered with Latitude, a custom market research consultancy to conduct the survey. A total of 437 Beatport users, ages 18 to 34, were surveyed survey from March 4 to March 9. The report can be viewed at: http://sfxii.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Electronic-Music-Technology-and-Youth-Culture.pdf
