Do You Know Where To Meet Christian Singles To Find Romance And Love by Joseph Matthews

Do You Know Where To Meet Christian Singles To Find Romance And Love

by: Joseph Matthews

Are you having difficulty understanding where to meet singles? You may wish to meet other singles for dating or you may just wish to find singles for comradeship and support.

More than 80% of North Americans consider themselves to be Christian and yet a significant proportion of singles do not know how to meet up with other singles. A few of the people try and meet singles only thru church, which can sometimes be limiting. On the other hand, a few individuals are attempting to meet singles everywhere they go and finding that many folks are switched off by approaching a brand new relationship from a spiritual perspective. The way to meet singles is to discover a balance between these 2 ends of the spectrum. So as to find singles, you need to be open to meeting them in a selection of suitable places. If you are only trying to find other Christian singles at church, you are limiting yourself to the tiny, select pool of people that attend your church and the even smaller number of people that attend church social activities. Many folks who attend church are in committed relations and church is a family activity for them. You may be capable of making friends with other Christian singles here but the chance of meeting other Christian singles here is slim.

At the exact same time, you aren't likely to meet Christian singles at the local bar, the newest rave party or the nude beach. Many Christians associate with a good range of folk and enjoy a selection of activities and finish up getting swept into modern normal forms of dating. Regularly this sort of dating involves alcohol and overt sexuality. Whether or not you're able to find Christian singles in such an environment, you will find that your spiritual foundation is a turn-off and they may back away. You will also find that if you see Christian singles in such places, your relationship might be rocky because of contrary moral values held by both parties. In order to hang out with Christian singles that share your religion but are not just chilling at church all day, you want to open yourself to a range of scenarios in which you'll bump into Christian singles. A technique to meet Christian singles is to alter your church attendance. You may still need to participate actively in your church but you may wish to frequently attend services at a second church.

In addition, you can inspire your church groups to plan mingling and volunteer events with other churches so Christian singles can talk with other Christian singles while making a contribution to the community. You should additionally be open to the chance to meet Christian singles in other areas of your life. You'll find Christian singles at the local library, sports events, cafes, poetry readings, theater events and shopping malls. So as to find Christian singles in such places, you must be prepared to place yourself out there, starting talks with people in public areas. You do not want to share immediately you are looking for Christian singles, nor have you got to place focus on your religion, as this might impede conversation initially. Instead, begin with general conversation and use social clues to include faith into the conversation at acceptable times.

In this manner, you'll meet Christian singles with a range of interests, forming friendships and relations increasingly easy before.

Books & Music :: Why The New No Nonsense Romance Novels May Also Appeal To You (Page 3 of 4)

- Parents and teachers may choose to read Young Adult and New Adult books to stay connected to their children or students.

- The novels provide an opportunity for escapism: There is nothing that makes you feel better than reading about people who become happy. You also know that any emerging problem can be easily solved by reading the story all the way to the end.

- Young Adult and New Adult Romance Stories are inspiring and empowering. In the life of a teen, every new event and decision has the capacity of creating new perspectives for a totally different future. In considering the possible consequences of the main characters' decisions, we enter a world with new morals and new choices that invite us to consider applying them to our own daily actions.

- They are good adventures, because traditionally the hero and heroine fall in love very soon, but have to conquer a lot of opposition and go through a roller-coaster of experiences and emotions before finally finding love in each other's arms.

- Stylish packaging and marketing helped them expand beyond their initial teen audience.

Young Love

Have you ever looked back at your life and noticed you remember it in segments defined by the relationship you were in? If you did, I'd like to recommend you some of the more unconventional Young and New Adult Romance Novels.

Amongst them, the "Young Love" series definitely is amongst my favourites. If you're done with romance stories that rely on princes, werewolves or dark secrets, than here is a set of refreshing contemporary New Adult Romance Stories about ordinary people that deal with love, loss and growing up.

Sean's high school phase was determined by Katherine. Though Katherine wasn't his first girlfriend, she definitely defines as his first love: the person and relationship all later significant persons and relationships in his life are compared to.

A difficult relationship.

In the first novel, Young Love Part1: A Schoolyard Love Story, Sean and Katherine fall in love. Theirs is never an easy relationship. When Katherine doesn't agree with his life style, he realizes he will lose her unless he drastically changes his behaviour. His desire to please Katherine forces him to start looking at himself, other persons and events in his life with new eyes. Nothing he does however can save their relationship from capsizing. When the relationship becomes a threat to her studies and understanding with parents and teachers, Katherine still ditches him. Since Katherine keeps repeating that the break up is only temporary and that she can't imagine life without him, he starts out very optimistic about his chances to win her back. Soon however, he discovers that broken things have sharp edges and that trying to fix them can be very painful.

Young Love, A schoolyard love story, is a refreshing high school romance set in Europe, Flanders, in the early seventies of the previous century with a total lack of stereotyping, that has it all: it's witty, bittersweet, touching and rich in culture and history. The story depicts all the uncertainties and overpowering emotions that come with true young love in a most original and genuine way.

Timeline of the Rave Scene

Darkness accentuated by vibrant strobe lighting, powerful hypnotic audio beats ringing in one's ears, standing-room only crowd dancing away the night, no club rules or regulations... this scenario may seem totally alien to anyone but a raver. The rave culture is one of the most controversial and misunderstood youth cultures in history. For most, loud raucous music, an excuse to peddle and abuse drugs freely and young people indulging in everything and anything without a care, is the real meaning of the term rave culture. But all cultures, whether Greek or rave have a starting point, an inception and in this article, learn where it all started, with an in-depth analysis of the history of rave dancing and music and partying - in short the rave culture.

A Look at The History of Rave Culture

Epicenter - Europe

It's the early 1950s. The world has just gotten over a violent and dragging war, with lives lost, cities ruined and the economy in a shambles. After such a time of war and strife, various countries are struggling to get back on their feet and young people the world over are looking to get away from it all. Forget the blood and violence, forget the horrors of war, just party and dance your blues away, was the main thought on everyone's mind. In London, the Beatnik movement was just awakening. They had a "don't care" hip attitude, an underground mode of operation, where everything was hush-hush and a very anti-establishment policy.

Another development was the arrival of drugs, which were now regarded as a new, cool way to freak out. So wild, over-the-edge parties were thrown, no holds barred, no limits, no rules, nothing to tie one down, just bang your head away and do what makes you happy. Such parties had a very large attendance, invitation was by trusted word-of-mouth and it was the "in" thing at the time. The word "Rave" was first used to describe such parties.

Rave dance parties became the signature style of party freaks and their popularity continued into the 1960s. The term "rave" became synonymous with wild, limitless partying by large inhibited crowds. Repeated attendees of such parties were called "ravers". But for a while, all such partying stopped and the term became a genre of music, used to describe psychedelic and garage rock music. Rave culture became a forgotten trend and faded into the shadows, with the arrival and overpowering impact of the "hippie" culture.

The return of the rave culture took place in the 1980s. The music of the Beatles, the Carpenters and other 60's and 70's legends, gave way to Techno dance beats. Electronic music became the new thing to listen and dance to. A notable musical genre was Acid house, which had heavy, repetitive music in a trance-like style with a few key phrases or lines as the sole lyrics. Such music encouraged all night long dancing or swaying to the beat and was produced by electronic synthesizers. The persuasive effect of this music lead to the Acid House Parties, the first large-scale rave parties. These parties featured massive crowds above 10,000 and were held in large clubs, abandoned fields or houses and warehouses, any large area where people could collect and dance away.

Rave parties were known for their large crowds and excessively loud music and hence were considered a nuisance by people living in the vicinity of any area where such parties were held. But another rather frightening trend emerged, which would taint the name of rave culture forever. Rave parties became a perfect location for selling and distributing party drugs, such as cocaine, Ecstasy and amphetamines. While this may have occurred in a few parties, soon any rave party was tagged "a drug festival".

Rave culture soon became an elitist and underground way of life, especially in the U.K and Germany. The aggressive attitude of law enforcement forces only encouraged the ravers, to make such parties more secretive and more dangerous. In 1994, the British Government passed the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act. This act banned large parties, organizing a rave and gave the police, rights to prevent ravers from collecting. Ravers started to organize smaller paid parties located indoors, which turned into today's nightclub scene. Being privately owned property and the strict laws, nightclubs did not allow large uncontrollable crowds and drug peddling and use was difficult to carry out. Other parts of Europe still held on to the rave culture, with Germany's Love Parade festivals held annually, being a key event. Today, raving is an underground and hidden sub-culture practiced by a few and unlicensed parties are held with great secrecy, to avoid the law.

Impact - America

What starts in Europe ultimately trickles down to the United States and from there, the rest of the world. With raving, Frankie Bones was the pioneer. This American disc jockey played at a rave held in an aircraft hangar in England, 1989 and brought and spread the rave culture across the United States, starting from New York City. Smaller raves were started across the country and the arrival of trance artists like The Prodigy, made the rave culture very popular during the 1990s. The NARNIA rave festival held by the G.U.N (Global Underworld Network), established the reign of raving in America and South America. Raving also became one key culture of the city of San Francisco.

The decline of raving in Europe in 2000, saw a similar decline in the rave culture Stateside. Curfews, stricter laws regarding drug use and the repeated inspection and violation of rave houses for failing to live up to fire safety standards, are a few factors. Slowly the rave scene lost out in San Francisco to the nightclub scene. In the U.S, the most popular rave culture scene remains in Los Angeles. In Europe, Berlin remains the rave culture capital.

Though it is unfortunate that rave parties and dancing are always linked with abuse of drugs, the history of rave culture highlights the effect a musical genre can have on a population, inspiring an attitude, behavior and way of life.

68 Cool DJ Name Suggestions

To Add or Not

Putting the prefix "DJ" in your name it totally up to you. Some DJs like Tisto, Armin Van Buuren, Moby, etc., do not add this prefix to their name. However, if you are not going to be a music producer and only a DJ, then it will be a better idea to put "DJ" in front of your name.

A DJ or Disc Jockey is "a person who plays popular recorded music on the radio or at a party or nightclub." This person is considered very important to get the party started. You can top this profession if you know how to move the crowd. However, if you want to make it as a DJ, then you need a cool name to stand out in the crowd. Your catchy and unique name becomes your and your music's identity. Taking a cue from it, this Buzzle article has a few suggestions for you.

How about using your name?

It is an obvious suggestion to consider your own name for the DJ title. If you think your name can make you big, you can use it like many other famous DJs such as Armin Van Buuren. You can use parts of your name if you don't want to use it as a whole. For example, French DJ David Guetta only uses his first and last name as a DJ, instead of his whole name, Dveriie Pierre Goustaph Guetta.

Though using one's name is the safest option, it can limit the creativity. With a "new" name for yourself, you can establish your image and craft your identity. Here we come with some cool ideas for your DJ name.

Mumbai house music | CNN Travel

Mumbai'sbest electronic music party has commandeered the post brunch, Sunday sunset spot at Aurus beach-side bar with its newSUNDOWN/MUSIC UP dance parties.

A collective of Indian and French DJs have organized sundown dance sessions at a time when the main Friday and Saturday party crowd is taking the day off.

Mumbai house music scenePioneers of electronic music in Mumbai.Organizers Bhavishyavani Future Soundz were formed in the mid 1990s "when it was not possible to listen to DJ mixes online and clubs were playing exclusively Bollywood and retro crap," they say.

"Trips abroad, raves, imported mixtapes and drum'n'bass and newly discovered Asian underground sounds broughttogethera few party people and creative minds such as Mr Tee, Bhaisaab, Insat, Kutklass Masta Justy. First parties in dodgy bars managed by wannabe mafia goons, followed by neon light Gandhian glasses party and multiple events in Bombay's hippest or shaddiest venues."

At the beginning of the 21st century, the collective was joined in Mumbai by Charlee, MMAT and Loopkin, a crew of French "refugees" (cool code for Frenchmen who became more local than the locals) and what happened after that is too chaotic to describe here. Let's just say they created an international, urban clubbing experience with a local aesthetic.

And that's what you can expect from the Sunday sessions as well.

The Bhavishyavani Future Soundz + Aurusparties got off to a great start in October with Mathew Jonson, Bandish Projekt, Peter Kruder (of Kruder & Dorfmeister), Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale, Mathias Schaffhauser and SHPONGLE.

For the upcoming Xmas weekend it's M.A.N.D.Y of the Get Physical label (host of Booka Shade, ModeSelektor...). These are, if you don't know it already, some of the most exciting pioneers of electronic music on the planet.

Coming soon to a beach near you. Merry Christmas from CNNGo Mumbai.

Discover six of the names turning festival visuals into an art form in their own rightLive EDM events have exploded in popularity, and become eye-popping experiencesTech developments are allowing never-before-seen experiencesCNN Ones to Watch is a new show that shines a spotlight on up-and-coming creative talents set to be the next big names in culture and the arts.

(CNN) -- Take away the 100-foot screens, the blasting lasers, and the holographic projections, and what do you have left? Tens of thousands of screaming electronic music fans with nothing much to cheer except a solitary figure, twiddling some knobs and occasionally raising his hand.

For EDM fans across the world, the festival and concert visual performances can be almost as crucial as the music -- transforming a DJ-set into an unforgettable, transcendent, multi-sensory experience.

In the hands of specialist artists, the lights, images and physical environment around the DJ are becoming an art form in their own right. Buoyed by the explosion of popularity of live electronic music -- plus technological advances like projection mapping, innovative VJ (video jockey) software, mushrooming visual computing power, and those famous holograms -- these artists are now getting the chance to display their creations on a spectacular scale.

Here, we look at six of the names working behind the stage to turn festivals and concerts into unforgettable immersive experiences.

Comix -- Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Alesso

Avicii's 2014 arena tour was a jaw-dropping spectacle -- glittering with laser-fire, pyrotechnics, and epic on-screen visuals -- that promised that the young artist could pack out arenas across the world just as well as more established names. The company behind everything on screen are London designers Comix, and for sheer mesmerizing hypnotism, give Avicii a miss and look at their work on Swedish House Mafia's ultimate "One Last Tour."

Strangeloop -- Flying Lotus, Skrillex, Erykah Badu

If anyone was born to take music visuals to cinematic new heights, it was David Wexler, AKA Strangeloop. The grandson of Academy Award-winning cinematographer Haskell Wexler and the son of Oscar-nominated production sound mixer Jeff Wexler, the L.A.-born artist has worked with dubstep star Skrillex (whose spasmodic performance visuals have also seen him recreated movement-for-movement as a giant robot), and "soul goddess" Erykah Badu. But it all started with his art school classmate Flying Lotus -- Wexler and the experimental music idol have worked together since 2008.

Eyesupply -- Armin van Buuren, Afrojack

Armin van Buuren's six-hour long all-night "Armin Only" marathons this year called for a different kind of visual display. Eyesupply's Carlo Ruijgers said it took his team a year working with Armin to pull together the creative ideas. In the end the key was contrast: "Sometimes we go very theatrical, do a fairytale environment... or 3D-oriented," says Ruijgers.

United Visual Artists -- Massive Attack, Hans Zimmer

Bafta-winning documentary filmmaker Adam Curtis called it a "gilm." (It's cross between a gig and a film.) His collaboration with British trip-hop pioneers Massive Attack was intended to be a lot more than a DJ set. Tracks ranging from Russian punk to English pop trio The Sugababes synced to a video performance billed as an immersive revelation of the "illusion of democracy." The performance drew on the expertise of United Visual Artists, who have been making incredible visual displays for the band for more years.

The Light Surgeons -- Chase and Status, Cinematic Orchestra

The Light Surgeons have invented something they're calling "Live Cinema." It's an on-screen viusal performance, improvised live like a jazz band. It's similar to how VJs are working behind the scenes at a festival, anyway -- splicing clips together on-the-fly to match the ebb-and-flow of a DJ set. Here, they're in control of everything -- creating cinematic narratives (like this "kaleidoscopic view of the cultural landscape of Malaysia") to tell grand stories. And they make killer videos for top DJs, too.

Universal Everything -- Coldplay, George Michael

Electronic music's influence has seen visuals develop across genres. Kate Bush's comeback shows and Radiohead's most recent tour stunned fans with on stage performances and visual madness. And "dad rock" has realized it doesn't have to be boring, either. Even dishwater ballad monsters Coldplay have signed up a company who make screen-drippingly beautiful 3D animations. Just watch this.
